The Southern Regional Health Authority (SRHA), a Statutory Body under the Ministry of Health & Wellness responsible for the management and operation of Public Health Services within the Parishes of Clarendon, Manchester and St. Elizabeth, invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the following position in the Regional Office:
Air Conditioning Technician(SOG/ST 4)
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager the AC Technician will be responsible for carrying out general servicing, maintenance and repairs to the Split AC Units at the various health facilities within the region.
Qualifications and Experience
Five (5) subjects at CXC/GCE O’ Level inclusive of English Language and Mathematics
Certification from a recognized institution in Advanced Air Conditioning
A minimum of five (5) years’ working experience in the field of Air Conditioning
Possession of a valid Driver’s Licence
Specific Knowledge and Skills
Excellent Knowledge of AC Units and specifications of a variety of AC manufacturers
In depth knowledge of the new Inverter AC units
Ability to perform repairs on AC compressors, replacing fan motors, charging AC systems
Excellent planning skills
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Possession of the necessary equipment for the servicing, repairs and maintenance of Split AC Units
Owns and operates a reliable vehicle
Key responsibilities will include:
Maintains AC Units in functional condition by conducting inspections; replacing parts and components including fleet vehicles
Contains cost by using warranty; evaluating service and parts options
Maintains AC Units appearance by cleaning vents, washing coils and painting
Maintains AC records by recording service and repairs
