The National Land Agency invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following vacant positions within the Internal Audit Unit:
Auditor– 4 Posts
The successful candidate will report to the Senior Auditor.
Job Purpose
To assist with the execution of internal audit programmes to determine the adequacy and effectiveness of the systems of management and controls.
Key Responsibilities
Assists with planning the scope of assigned segments of the audit to evaluate the information needed to meet the audit objectives
Assists in determining the records of activities to analyze, the tests to apply, working papers to prepare so as to obtain sufficient evidential and pertinent data
Recommends the means of obtaining, analyzing and evaluating evidentiary data
Uses evidentiary data as the basis to inform objective opinions about activities being reviewed
Reviews transactions, documents, records and methods, for accuracy, effectiveness and conformity to written processes
Prepares working papers to record and summarize data on the assigned segments
Discusses findings with operating personnel to verify facts and ohtain explanations of, and reasons for such findings
Reviews the means of safeguarding assets to verify their existence
Writes audit reports stating the deficiencies discovered
Conducts special audits and special assignments as directed
Other Responsibilities
Keeps abreast of trends and changes in the discipline
Performs other related duties assigned from time to time by the Supervisor
Required Competencies/Skills
The job-holder should be able to demonstrate:
Sound knowledge of auditing, accounting and public administration
Sound knowledge of public finance legal framework
Knowledge and experience of GoJ operations and of public sector issues
Good understanding of the public expenditure policy environment
Competence in the use of relevant computer applications
Well-developed writing and communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Excellent planning and organizing skills
Ability to work in a team
Integrity, confidentiality and good ethical standards
Minimum Required Qualifications and Experience
Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Management Studies (with Auditing as a major course) from a recognized institution or ACCA Level 2
At least two (2) years’ working experience in auditing and accounting
