We are currently recruiting for aBehaviour Mentor/Teaching Assistantto join our team of Learning Support Assistants within the Maldon, Essex area.
We work with schools that provide education for children whose severe Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties have led to them not being able to cope in a mainstream setting. Due to an increase in pupil numbers within these schools, we are looking for flexible staff that can start immediately.
Behaviour Mentorswill:
- Build a positive and genuine relationship with pupils focused on their well-being
- Be open to supporting challenging behaviours, mental health and social difficulties
- Promote positive behaviour and interactions with children/staff
- Improve each child’s view of him/herself, building on their self-esteem and confidence
- Help each child identify and acknowledge the social, emotional or behavioural problems which they face and learn skills for coping with them in a positive way
- Provide a secure, stable and caring environment in which every child can grow and develop
You must be:
- Available on a flexible basis,Monday–Friday,08:30– 4:00, school term time only
- Have previousexperienceworking withChallenging Behaviour, mental health or vulnerable children
- Haveschool or learning based experience
- Enjoy engagingwith friendly staff members and inspirational students
- Willing to make a difference in helping children to achieve their full potential
