National Land Agency invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following vacant position:
Budget Officer –Corporate Services Division
The successful candidate will report to the Senior Budget Officer.

Job Purpose
To assist with the efficient and effective preparation and management of the Agency’s budget.

Key Responsibilities
Furnishes up-to-date cost data for goods and services necessary for the formulation of Annual Estimates
Prepares budget template for Divisional Directors and Managers and submits for review before dispatch
Compiles and reviews expenses and revenue data for identifying indicated trends to help determine current budget and forward estimates
Prepares other supplementary information and supports the Senior Budget Officer in the formulation of Annual Estimates
Examines requisitions/purchase orders and prepares report to show budget allocation vs requests- to-date status.
Prepares divisional analysis report of actual against budgeted expenditures and submits for review by Senior Budget Officer
Tabulates data for inclusion in miscellaneous costing schedules and other budget reports
Assists with the provision of information to internal and external audits, as requested
Prepares and maintains budget records and files
Other Responsibilities
Performs other related duties assigned from time to time

Required Competencies/Skills
The post-holder should be able to demonstrate:
Knowledge of the FAA Act, Regulations and Instructions
Knowledge of budget development, including the GOJ budgetary practices
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
In-depth grasp of financial principles and practices
Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to use information technology tools for financial analysis and budget monitoring
Good conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills
Excellent time management skills

Minimum Required Qualifications and Experience
AAT (Level 3) or CAT (Level C) or Undergraduate Degree in business administration, finance or related field with two years of relevant experience in an accounting environmentOR;
AAT (Level 2) or CAT (Level B) or Associate of Science Degree in accounting from a recognized institution with 3 years of relevant experience in an accounting environmentOR;
Diploma in Government accounting from MIND with 4 years of relevant experience.
‘Relevant experience’ may be reduced by one year with possession of prior budgeting experience
