Tomlinson Environmental Services Kingston is currently looking for a Comfort Station Driver to join our Operations team. This role is responsible for performing all daily job requirements safely and efficiently. It also requires a candidate capable of safely operating a vehicle in challenging weather conditions and varying environments.
This position involves working from Monday to Friday with a minimum of 50 hours a week. The hourly wage is $22.00 to $25.00.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Successfully work in a fast paced environment under pressure while maintaining composure and a positive outlook.
Safety oriented with good housekeeping practices, controlling hazards, safety awareness and a good driving record.
Operate a comfort station vehicle in compliance with all local, provincial and federal regulations and company policies.
Pump sewage waste from holding tanks.
Complete daily route and assist in other areas as directed.
Available to work overtime, weekends and holidays.
Good written and verbal communication skills to be able to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external customers, dispatch and management.
Perform daily maintenance and cleaning of company vehicles and equipment, and report defect’s immediately.
Conduct pre-trip/post trip inspections and complete logs.
Adhere to all Company Policies and Procedures.
Repair and clean out damaged portable units.
Assemble new portable units.
Go out on the road for conducting maintenance and repairs on toilet trailers.
Perform portable unit deliveries and pickups.
Maintain inventory of supplies and parts and take care of orderings.
Maintain Shop cleanliness at all times.
Perform minor repairs on Comfort Station Fleet equipment (pumps, pressure washers, hoses).
Other tasks and duties as assigned.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Exposure to extreme weather conditions.
Exposure to waste materials.
Exposure to high traffic conditions while outside of the vehicle.
Ability to work in all weather conditions.
REQUIREMENTS
Previous driving and route experience is an asset.
Valid D license with a clean abstract.
The ability to load, unload, pick and move portable toilets that weight 125lbs plus.
Ability to read and understand a map or operate a GPS unit.
