FOREMAN (SEWER AND WATERMAIN)
Tomlinson is Eastern Canada’s leader in environmental, construction and transportation infrastructure services. Tomlinson is currently seeking a Foreman who can provide leadership, scheduling, coordination, supervision and ensure the productivity and safety of the work crew and the public.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPERIENCE
Ability to manage a staff of 5-7 while organizing and prioritizing tasks
Ability to read plans and set grades
Health and Safety training/knowledge – Confined Space, Traffic control, Hoisting and Rigging, trenching and excavation, First Aid/CPR an asset
Supervise/co-ordinate daily activities for workers
Ensure high standards of workmanship and efficiency
Manage and enforce of all safety requirements and policies
Ensure the efficient use of labour, machines and materials used by the crew
Provide coaching and training to crewmembers
WORKING CONDITIONS
Working conditions are normal for a construction industry environment
Working upwards of 10+ hours per day, 5 days per week and, occasional nights or weekends
Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work
Work requires regular travel
Some computer skills are required
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
2 to 4+ years of industry experience in a supervisory role
3+ years of demonstrated effective people management experience
