Cost Accountant

The Cost Accountant is responsible for supporting the management and analysis of expenditure and providing recommendations about cost-efficient and financially feasible options. The Cost Accountant is also responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of various reports.

Responsibilities

Ensuring timely preparation of weekly profit and loss reports
Ensuring effective maintenance of physical and system inventory warehouses
Ensuring all farm production reconciliations are completed on a weekly basis
Participating in monthly and ad hoc inventory verifications; ensuring the investigation of anomalies and updating of requisite systems
Assisting with budget preparations
Collaborating to identify, develop and maintain efficiencies and cost saving mechanisms
Assisting Operations leaders with preparation and validation of CRFs and calculations of ROIs.
Liaising with Internal and External Auditors when required
Assisting with the management of operating expenses and constantly seeking ways of reducing waste
Providing frequent analytical reviews with a focus on identifying areas for improvement.
Reviewing and approving fortnightly payroll for contracted and casual workers
Liaising with the Cost Accounting Manager to verify full farm performance for each flock cycle
Assisting in ensuring compliance with all regulations – legal, statutory, ISO9001 (where applicable) etc.

Requirements

Associates Degree in Accounting
Presently pursuing accounting qualifications e.g. ACCA, FCA, CPA with a major in Accounting or equivalent.
At least three (3) years’ experience in a similar role.
Ability to maintain and preserve strict confidentiality
