Director – Business Development
Job Summary
The Director – Business Development has the responsibility to direct and coordinate the activities of the department. This will include identifying and assessing the viability of business development opportunities, asset acquisitions and divestitures, infrastructure and needs solutions, and commercial support requirements which are contemplated by the organization. The incumbent will communicate these opportunities to the organization and the agreed stakeholders, as well as oversees development and incentive programmes to ensure their intent, direction and integrity remain intact.
The ideal candidate should have:
Specific Knowledge, Qualification and Experience
Master of Business Administration or Science Degree in Economics, Sociology or any other Social Science majoring in Business Administration or similar qualifications from an accredited tertiary institution
Ten (10) years of experience in financial planning at a senior level in a medium or large organization.
Expert knowledge in economic and financial evaluation of project proposals
Sound knowledge of research methodology
Sound knowledge of relevant computer applications such as Microsoft Office
Sound knowledge of Project Management and Project Management software
Required Skills and Specialized Techniques
Sound leadership skills
Sound administrative and organizational skills
Well-developed critical thinking and analytical skills
Sound management and human relations skills
Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written formats
Ability to motivate and train staff
Special requirements associated with the job:
Required to visit projects/make site visits
Attending meetings outside of normal working hours
