The Management Institute for National Development (MIND) is seeking suitably qualified candidates to apply for the following position:
Finance and Accounts Officer
The incumbent will be responsible for supporting the receivables and payables functions, ensuring transactions are undertaken and systematically recorded and accounts properly maintained.

Key Responsibilities
Maintain Accounts Receivables Ledger, ensuring the accurate and timely posting of accounting transactions
Ensure the accurate and timely preparation and remittance of invoices to clients and/or participants
Follow up with clients and participants to ensure the timely receipt of payments on outstanding balances
Prepare weekly and monthly receivables aging report
Assist with the processing of monthly and fortnightly payrolls and ensure that all transactions are properly posted and recorded
Prepare and post journal vouchers in respect of daily accounting transactions and adjustments to accounts
Assist with the accurate and timely remittance of pension and statutory deductions to relevant Government Agencies
Assist with the preparation of reports and schedules in compliance with reporting requirements
Perform other related duties assigned from time to time by the Manager Finance and Accounts

The successful candidate should possess the following competencies:
Good knowledge of Accounting, Auditing and Financial Statements
Appreciation of Financial Analysis Acumen
Good understanding of Financial Accounting and Reporting
Excellent Knowledge of Budgeting and Forecasting
Knowledge of Financial Performance
Sound Knowledge and Appreciation of Statutory Taxes
Knowledge of Risk Management
Sound Knowledge of Statutory Laws and Regulations that govern the Accounting Practices
Ability to Exercise Initiative

Minimum Required Qualification and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or ACCA Level II
A minimum of three (3) years related work experience
