The Management Institute for National Development (MIND) is seeking suitably qualified candidates to apply for the following position:
Instructional Design Specialist
The incumbent will be responsible for guiding the Agency’s curriculum and instructional design process in support of the delivery of multi-modal learning products and services; and developing instructionally sound training materials/courseware in keeping with the needs of MIND’s clients, customers and programme direction.

Key Responsibilities
Product Planning, Development and Instructional Design
Design and develop multi-mode programme/course materials, including training manuals for facilitators and participants in keeping with the Agency’s standards
Research/Evaluate best practices in instructional design and instructional theory, assess the potential to employ these findings and make recommendations as appropriate Work with development teams, including MIND’s Capability Development Specialists to produce instructional support materials within established timeframes
Facilitate the review of training materials to include pilot tests
Organise and conduct product design meetings
Work in a consultative relationship with members of the MIND team including Associates and Fellows in the development of learning solutions for the Institute’s clients and customers
Execute all stages of the instructional design process – needs assessment, design, development, implementation and evaluation – with an emphasis on development and maintenance
Coordinate the development of a range of needs-based training products, including classroom materials (for delivery by others), online performance support, e-learning, and print-based learning solutions, as appropriate
Provide recommendations for the continuous review of the Agency’s Curriculum Development and Review Policy and Procedures to guide curricula/instructional design activities within the Agency
Evaluate and assess training and its impact
Prepare interview protocol and gather content from Subject Matter Experts
Develop a basic understanding of the subject matter through materials provided and individual research
Proofread and edit own work and work of others to improve quality, readability, consistency, and effectiveness of documentation
Participate in the assessment and review of needs analysis, curriculum analysis, programme analysis and market analysis to identify new training programmes
Review course evaluation results to identify areas that need to be improved and instructional methods that need to be updated/revised
Product Quality Assurance
Contribute to the development and implementation of the Agency’s learning assessment framework
General Management and Leadership
Keep abreast of local and global issues and trends that will inform the adoption of innovative, current and interactive learning products
Provide strategic advice and support to the executive team in the area of instructional design and delivery
Contribute to the development of the Agency’s Strategic Plans and budget
Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual progress reports to inform Agency performance against objectives and targets
Facilitate the improvement and growth of MIND’s partnerships and collaborations, through:
– Participation in local and international seminars/workshops/conferences
– Undertaking of relevant academic research and presentation of papers
– Development and maintenance of relations with relevant professional organisations
Perform other related duties that may be assigned from time to time by the Senior Manager PSCD

The successful candidate should possess the following competencies:
Knowledge of Curriculum Development, Learning Facilitation and Assessment Methodologies
Expertise in Multi-modal Instructional Design Concepts and Principles
Excellent Knowledge of Learning Systems
Knowledge of Competency Based Education and Training
Ability to apply instructional design concepts and learning theory to the development of adult learning products
Strong Writing, Editing and Proofreading Skills

Minimum Qualification and Experience
Postgraduate degree in Instructional Design or a related area
Certification in Education and Training
Experience in curriculum development, instructional design and training delivery
Three (3) years’ experience developing content with an educational/training purpose for publication, web-based delivery, and or classroom use.
