The Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) invites suitably qualified persons to enlist in the JDF as a Professional Entry Officer, to fill the following position:
Internal Audit Manager– The Caribbean Military Academy (CMA)
Candidates must fulfill the following requirements
Nationality:
Be a citizen of the Commonwealth.
Minimum Professional and Educational Requirements
A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Management from an accredited institution PLUS professional qualifications – Certified Internal Auditor, OR Certified Information Systems Auditor OR Certification in Risk Management Assurance.
Five years post-qualification audit experience of which at least 3 years must have been at a senior management level in external or internal auditing.
Key Competencies include:
Knowledge of best practices in Internal Audit and Risk Management especially in higher education.
Solid understanding of risk and control concepts.
Ability to use risk and control concepts to evaluate the adequacy of business processes and controls and to mitigate risks.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
Strong ability to think strategically with focus on quality and risk management.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
In addition to the academic qualifications, candidates must be able to pass the assessment requirements for enlistment in the JDF
Key Duties and Responsibilities include:
Develop and monitor the Academy’s Internal Audit overall strategy continuous improvement plan and quality standards.
Maintain knowledge of best practice in Internal Audit Perform audit test and prepare working papers in accordance with the Institute of Internal Auditors Standards and the policies of the organization.
Assess complex activities to identify potential operational, financial or compliance risks or potential fraud.
Identify and document control and process weaknesses and provide evidential support for findings.
Propose practical and value-added recommendations to address control weaknesses.
