The National Housing Trust seeks to identify a:
Maintenance Technician– Property Management Department.
Position Summary
The Maintenance Technician provides routine maintenance services to electrical, plumbing and telephone systems, and also assists in monitoring the work done by contractors.
Main Duties
Duties specific to the position include:
Conducting routine checks on air conditioning units, generators and water supply
Ensuring that work done by external service providers on sites conforms with regulations
Undertaking minor repairs on office equipment and appliances
Assisting in carrying out refurbishing work in the office and providing electrical maintenance services
Participating in disaster management activities, and
Maintaining records of materials, equipment used and work performed.
Qualifications and Experience
The Maintenance Technician must have:
Certificate in Electrical and Mechanical Installation/Maintenance from a recognized institution
At least two (2) years’ working experience in building maintenance or construction
At least five (5) CSEC or GCE subjects (including Mathematics and English Language)

Communication skills (oral and written)
Problem solving and analytical
Computer proficiency
Knowledge of:
NHT’s policies, procedures, practices, rules and regulations
Jamaican building code
Electrical circuits, fittings and appliances
Mechanical engineering principles and practices
Carpentry and plumbing
This job requires the incumbent to work in excessive noise and may be exposed to dust and dirt.
