We are seeking to appoint an ambitious and motivational teacher who is keen to make a difference to the prospects of the young people in a SEN school in Frome, Somerset.
The School is a happy and caring school serving over students between the ages of 4-16 with MLD (mild learning difficulties), SLD (severe learning difficulties) and PMLD (profound and multiple learning difficulties). Some of the students also have sensory impairments and speech and language difficulties.
Every pupil has an EHCP (Educational Health Care Plan) in place which means that no two pupils are taught in the same way. The school has excellent on site facilities including a sensory room and a library along with allotments.
Classes have no more than 8 pupils in with at least one teacher and two TA’s per class. As a SEN Teacher at this Ofsted rated ‘Outstanding’ School, you would be expected to have:
- Experience teaching students with special needs within an educational setting
- The ability to differentiate work for the varying needs of students within your class
- QTS (qualified teacher status)
- A resilient and flexibleapproach to work
- An in depth understanding of the KS1 curriculum
