Procurement Business Partner – Supply Chain
Procurement play a key role in enabling Primark to deliver “Amazing Fashion at Amazing Prices” whilst supporting a significant store expansion programme and business transformation. Our team partners with the business to develop strategies to create competitive advantage for the business, with a focus on value creation, sustainability, innovation and risk management.
The Procurement Business Partner – Performance & Implementation is a senior role to enable business strategy and procurement programmes.
Reporting into the Director of Procurement, you will be accountable to create, develop and execute effective strategies to maximise commercial, sustainability and operational benefits from these categories of spend.
This role will be Dublin or Reading based, with frequent travel expected between the two.
What we’re looking for
You’ll have 3-5 years experience in a Procurement Manager role with knowledge of financial, legal, sustainability/CSR and ethical sourcing. You’ll you proven success in collaborating closely with a wide range of key stakeholders from across the business to make our ambitions a reality. You’ll have expert knowledge of financial, legal contract negotiations, strong awareness of ethical sourcing and corporate social responsibility issues. You’ll have the ability to build strategic partnerships with key suppliers and proficient in preparing month end KPI reports and analysing costs and performance.
As well as the above, we’re looking for someone who can work in a fast paced organisation, and on top of that, you’ll be curious, enthusiastic and, it goes without saying, super skilled at planning and organisation.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
Performance & Implementation
•Support the execution of the Procurement transformation, from defining capability programmes to designing procurement processes to drive compliance to strategies.
•Develop and own Procurement systems roadmap in conjunction with Procurement, finance, IT and BI/analytics teams
•Understand advances in Procurement technology, processes and ways of working to ensure Primark @ Procurement maintains relevance
•Establish a rigour around performance management for the Procurement team, with the aim of identifying issues early to help support resolution and ultimately measure the functions performance across pillars of; Increasing Value Delivery, Protecting the Business, Future fit Team and Fit for Purpose Systems
•Accountable for maintaining effective Procurement policies such as buying goods and services, supplier setup, contract management etc. Work closely with legal and assurance to ensure policies are fit for purpose and report regularly on compliance.
Compliance and Governance
•Own policies related to contract approval, supplier setup and category strategy sign off
•Ensure internal compliance through legal review and approval, appropriate grant of authority for new scopes of work and contracts
•Design effective governance within Procurement, including ensuring effective internal ways of working
Contractual and Legal
•Ensure Primark is adequately legally protected and insured in commercial agreements
•Ensure compliance to contract approval policy via legal review and appropriate grant of authority for contracts and SOW’s
•Actively champion sustainability and be conscious of Corporate Social Responsibility Policy.
Operational Effectiveness
•Through category management, establish a robust supplier base that delivers the required quality, cost and service in compliance with Primark Ethical Trade Strategy.
•Deploy appropriate technological solutions to ensure efficiency and best use of leverage in new methods e.g.; eRFX, auctions.
•Maintain a current view of overall category spend, supplier data, market intelligence and best practice
E-sourcing and Systems
•Assist in on-going development of E-sourcing strategy to suggest ideas and help drive initiatives to provide better tools and systems for Primark.
•Ensure events are scheduled, prepared and managed to deliver best value through our e –sourcing tools Scanmarket, Keelvar.
Complexity – Internal, Spend and Supply Market
•Primarily partner with medium level complexity network of Manager, Head Of and Director level Primark stakeholders
•Set agreed strategies and manage inbound, transport and warehousing sub-categories, supporting strategic automation programme
•Chair and be an active member of the Procurement Leadership Team (PLT)
•Act as delegate for Procurement director as appropriate
