eGov Jamaica Limited invites applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the position of:
Programmer Analyst (RAIS)
The Programmer Analyst will work with a team comprising a Support Manager, Developers, Business Analysts, Database and System Administrators, Business Team Lead and Technical Team Lead to maintain and support a mission critical enterprise application developed on the Microsoft .Net platform.
The incumbent will be responsible for:
Designing, developing, testing and maintaining solutions within the Microsoft.NET platform.
Performing detailed analysis of business and technical requirements.
Liaising with Business Analysts, Subject Matter Experts and Testers to ensure requirements are met.
Ensuring Logs are properly monitored on assigned days.
Identifying and troubleshooting bottlenecks and bugs, and devising solutions to mitigate and address these issues.
Extracting and manipulating data using SQL.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from a recognized tertiary institution.
Minimum 2-3 years’ experience as a developer.
Strong knowledge of .NET web framework.
Proficiency in C# and/or Visual Basic.NET, with a good knowledge of their ecosystems (Visual Studio IDE).
Proficiency in SQL (Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server).
Knowledge of Transact-SQL would be an asset.
Strong understanding of object-oriented programming.
A basic appreciation of deployment environments (Development, Testing, Staging, Production).
Proficient understanding of source code versioning tools.
Ability to write clean, readable, and easily maintainable code with documentation.
Ability to clearly communicate and translate technical terms and processes to the business stakeholders.
