The Management Institute for National Development (MIND) is seeking suitably qualified candidates for the following position:
Research and Information Management Officer
The incumbent will undertake research and analysis to establish client needs and assist in determining appropriate Agency services and programmes.

Key Responsibilities
Research
Coordinate the establishment of a framework towards a more effective research culture at the Agency
Research, analyze, present and disseminate statistical and other data and performance information
Provide assistance with the design, development and implementation of strategies and techniques to research, assess, and recommend strategies to bridge the gaps in MIND’s research framework/infrastructure and improve optimum strategic effectiveness
Conduct Client Satisfaction Surveys and Participant Evaluations
Conducting qualitative analysis of data conducted through interviews, focus groups, workshops or other methods.
Design and carry out paper based and electronic surveys including data analysis and reporting and complete responses to surveys carried out by other organisations
Undertake research of stakeholder training, development and service needs/requirements
Ensure that stakeholder Research are adequately and effectively addressed and served (with close attention placed on meeting deadlines)
Assist with the process of ensuring full integration of a research culture into the Agency policies and procedures as well as into all areas of operation and communicated to all relevant stakeholders
Publications
Assist with the coordination of the editorial and production management of the Agency’s primary and secondary publications
Coordinate the development, production and dissemination of reports and research papers on issues of interest and relevance to the fulfillment of the MIND’s mandate
Produce publications with editorial value for internal and external stakeholder interests
General
Assist with the development, production and dissemination of weekly and monthly Reports; up-to-date Briefings (i.e. data, information and analysis)
Develop, propose and undertake upon approval, the delivery of special training and development programmes, designed to build the research capacity among (individual and organization), internal and external stakeholders
Assist with the development and implementation of a decision support system that all managers can use for planning and performance measurement purposes (i.e. Develop reports and databases that will facilitate better planning and use of resources)
Respond to information requests and enquiries internally and from external agencies and individuals and present this in an accessible and timely manner
Prepare presentations and data in a range of formats (including charts, graphs, spreadsheet, spatial mapping etc. to present data visually) using a variety of software packages
Provide accurate and timely information required by internal and external stakeholders
Establish partnership and collaboration with other public sector and allied bodies, peer institutions, organizations and professional groups to foster more integrated cooperation and ‘partnering’ to serve the best interests of research to the mutual benefit of all parties
Serve on various committees as directed and/or requested to provide relevant information, professional expertise, strategic guidance, direction and/or service response, as well as represent the interests of the Research Unit
Perform other related duties as assigned from time to time by the Manager, Research and Information Management

The successful candidate should possess the following competencies:
The ability to provide instruction and support for Research Users
Demonstration of strong data collection and analysis skills
Proficiency in statistical computer software programmes
Proficient application of qualitative data research and qualitative data sets
The ability to assess information needs to inform the design of value-added products and services to meet identified stakeholder needs
Excellent Problem Solving and Resolution Skills
Excellent Interpersonal Skills
Strong Analytical Skills

Minimum Required Qualification and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Social Research, Social Planning or Statistics or equivalent qualification
Proven skills in social trends, demographic trends, quantitative and qualitative research methods and consultation methods
A minimum of three (3) years related work experience
