SEN/PMLD Teaching Assistant I am currently working with a large, Local Authority maintained day special school in Enfield, North London. The pupils are aged 3-19 with severe and profound learning difficulties. We are located on two sites. The Early Years department is about 1 mile from the main site. The main school, which you will be working in waspurpose built in 1990 for pupils with complex needs and therefore enables access to all facilities throughout the school.

By working collaboratively with families, health professionals and social services we provide a nurturing environment for our students to enable them to feel safe and thereby allowing them the dignity of challenge.
Classrooms average under 8 students supported by a class teacher and 2 teaching assitants. Students here have profound multiple learning difficulties and so individuals who apply for this role MUST have experience working with these types of students. A majority of children use wheelchais, whether electrical or manual and some have additional needs such as needing to be PEG fed, assistance with personal care and moving and handling.
This role would be ideal for an experienced PMLD assistant, support workers and care assistants or individuals with personal experience of taking care of children with complex needs.

-Will be approachable and friendly
-Have experience working with students with PMLD and other SEN needs
-Be comfortable with personal care and moving and handling
-Have an enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one
-Be available full-time
