Teaching Personnel are proud to be working with an excellent primary school in the Maidstone area that are currently recruiting for a teaching assistant to support students with autism in the specialist provision. The role would be to start immediately (depending on when the school reopens) until the end of the academic year or to start in September if schools do not reopen before then.
The ideal teaching assistant will have specific experience working with primary aged pupils with autism. The teaching assistant will support the pupils on a 1:1 basis throughout every stage of the school day assisting in their routine, behaviour and academic work.
The teaching assistant will have similar experience working in roles with primary aged pupils with autism and have a thorough understanding of de-escalation & behaviour management strategies. An understanding of PECs is desired, but not essential.
The primary school is based in Maidstone, where strong senior leaders have a clear vision for the school's development. All pupils feel safe and are well catered for throughout the school with clear SEND provision and intervention. This school is well accessible by both car and the use of public transport.
This role is full-time and would begin as soon as possible when the schools are back open. The school are currently looking at arranging remote interviews for appropriate teaching assistants with the right experience, so if you have experience supporting primary aged pupils with autism on a 1:1 basis and you are free full-time, then get in touch today.
