We need Teaching Assistants in the Penryn/Falmouth area As we prepare to enter a new academic year, we are recruiting heavily for teaching assistants in one of our busiest areas of Cornwall. We are seeking applications from candidates who either live in the Falmouth/Penryn area or candidates who can easily travel to such areas for work.
The role of a Supply Teaching Assistant is an exceptionally important one and can be exceptionally rewarding.
In these supply roles, you will be expected to:
- Visit a variety of local schools
- Offer flexibility and be able to take occasional last minute calls for work on the day
- Work with a variety of different age groups
- Support children on a 1:1 basis
- Work with children who have additional or special needs
- Have a friendly, nurturing and supportive personality
- Work well with new teams each week
- Work pro actively within the classroom
There is not a specific training course that we require but experience or training in any of the following would be desirable:
- Teaching Assistant diploma
- Foundation degree in - Teaching and Learning, Early Education Studies etc
- SEN diploma
- Team Teach
- CACHE Level 2 or 3
- Nursery experience
- School based voluntary work
- Reading support
- Children's care support worker
- Special needs support
- SEMH support
- Challenging behaviour support
