A government entity is seeking to engage a short-term:
Coordinator
The Coordinator is responsible for the implementation of the Digital Global Services Strategy, which is a key output of the Global Services Sector Project (GSSP). Ultimately, the GSSP is focused on promoting the growth of the Global Services Sector (GSS) in Jamaica that can be divided into three main segments. These are Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), Information Technology Outsourcing (ITO) and Knowledge Process Outsourcing (KPO). The success of the GSSP will be measured, in large part, by the increased exports of GSS services, particularly those within the higher value-added segments.
Functions
Drive the implementation of the Digital Global Services Strategy (DGSS) by engaging relevant stakeholders towards implementation, supporting the development & execution of consultancies meant to support the MSMEs in Global Services Sector (GSS), planning & coordinating the execution of stakeholder engagement, including workshop attendee management and logistics.
Ensure continued alignment and collaboration with the Global Services Association of Jamaica, Jamaica Computer Society, Jamaica Information Technology Association, Global Services Skills Board, as well as other projects related to the development of the global services within Jamaica. Monitor and report on the implementation of the Strategy, including developments within the industry, as well as Identify, flag and recommend solutions for emerging issues.
Qualifications
Demonstrable experience working in the Global Services Sector for no less than 5 years
Excellent project management skills (certification would be an asset)
Post-graduate degree in a Business or Social Science related field
At least 6-8 years’ work experience at a senior management level
Excellent writing and communications skills and fluency in written and spoken English
Experience working with Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs)
Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated proactive approach to problem solving.
