Job Description:
Generator mechanic is a
full-time position. The
position holder will assist in
installing, commissioning,
servicing, and
troubleshooting general
electrical installation as well
as generators and transfer
switches. They will also
assist with the ongoing
maintenance of the
company vehicle fleet. The
Generator Mechanic is
responsible for customer
co-ordination and overall
success of the generator
department.
Job Requirements:
-. Oversee and /or perform
inspections, quotations,
repairs, services and
start-ups, load banks tests
on all equipment.
-. Oversee and /or perform
troubleshooting of
equipment and generator
components including but
not limited to alternators,
wirings harnesses, safety
devices, shutdown
switches, ATS and battery
systems.
-. Oversee and /or perform
the application of proper
engine technical skills in
inspection, disassembly,
failure analysis, reassembly,
diagnosis and engine
operating performance test.
-. Oversee and /or perform
the commissioning of new
generators and ATS'.
-. Oversee and /or perform
generator electrical
preventative maintenance
(PM) and generator
mechanical PM as
scheduled.
-. Must be able to work and
interpret approved electrical
drawings.
-. Be able to communicate
to contractors and
customers on jobs and
delegate other workers as
required.
-. Must be able to assist in
ongoing training for
generator technicians
through all available means
and promote generator
sales within department.
-. Assist Service
Coordinator by advising
service department if stock
is getting low.
-. Always keep company
vehicle clean, wear all
personal protection
equipment required by all
contractors on each jobsite.
-. Any other reasonable
tasks assigned by company
from time to time.
-. This position's shift is
Monday to Friday (45 hours
a week) typically. It may
require occasional overtime.
Qualifications and
Education Requirements:
-. 1- or 2-years' experience as
a Generator Technician or
equivalent
-. Must have relevant
generator training and
certification.
-. Must be able to read
drawings and service
manuals.
-. Must be able to use
laptop and relevant
technical software.
Prerequisites include:
-. Valid current passport.
-. Completely clean police
record, (required for
Cayman Islands work
permit).
-. Valid and clean driver's
license.
-. Willing and able to
relocate to Grand Cayman
long term
-. May hold or be required to
work towards getting an
electrician's license.
-. Must be willing to learn
new product lines acquired
by the company.
-. Must be willing to
participate in any training or
educational opportunities.
Renumeration:
-. Salary Rage of $25 - $32
USD per hour. No income
tax
