Instructional Design Assistant
Job Summary
The Instructional Designer Assistant will assist in driving the Distance Education Centre agenda of Northern Caribbean University by providing academic support in instructional design, strategies, assessment, technology, training and distributed learning for instructional development projects.
Qualifications and Experience Required
Recommended Qualifications: Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology or related field
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology or relate field
Minimum 2 years’ experience in instructional design and development
Project Management Qualification/Certification is a plus
Required Skills or Competencies
A clear understanding of the responsibilities of an Instructional Designer with evidence that shows alignment to the vision and mission of the Distance Education Centre.
Demonstrate proficiency using standard office software applications and web page editors, graphic software, and basic HTML.
Research methodologies and techniques.
Project management is an advantage.
Creativity and intellectual curiosity.
Capable of handling difficult situations in a professional manner.
High standards of ethics and confidentiality to handle sensitive information.
Avid consumer of innovations in instructional design from news, magazines, on-line publications.
Strong personal interest in developing design innovations for course facilitators with attention paid to accreditation standards and public policies.
