The Jamaica National Group is seeking to recruit a suitably qualified and experienced candidate to fill the position of:
IT Senior Release Engineer
The incumbent will be responsible for implementing and managing the release process for code through development, test, and production environments while working with the team to improve the software engineering process and practices associated with continuously building, deploying, and updating software environments. The IT Senior Release Engineer provides second tier support for the production environments and is responsible for providing the IT Architectural guidance that is geared towards improving the reliability of the production environments while ensuring project milestones are met.
Key Responsibilities
Manages the Release Management lifecycle which includes the scheduling, coordinating and management of releases for multiple applications across the JN Group
Manage risks and resolves issues that affect release scope, schedule and quality
Works with the software developers in order to understand the impact of code branches and code merges
Participate in Change Management meetings to discuss release scope and/or roadblocks
Produce Deployment, Run Books and Implementation plans
Develop scripts and automation tools used to build, integrate, and deploy software releases to various platforms
Maintains a release repository and manages key information such as build and release procedures, dependencies, and notification lists
Researches new software development and configuration management methodologies and technologies and analyzes their application to current configuration management needs
Collaborates with the other members of the Technical Services Department to conduct tests of the production environments in order determine if the production environments are robust and resilient enough to withstand unplanned failures

Minimum Qualifications & Experience
BSc. in Computer Science or a related field
ITIL Foundation Certification
Knowledge of frameworks such as Microsoft.NET and PHP Laravel
Be able to set up and manage application services such as Microsoft IIS, NGINX, Microsoft SQL Server
Knowledge of implementing large scale resilient infrastructure solutions
Knowledge of programming concepts, scripting languages, operating system concepts and virtualization technologies
