The National Land Agency invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following vacant position within the Estate Management Division:
Lands Officer(South East Region)
The successful candidate will report to Senior Lands Officer

Job Purpose
To assist in executing land administration activities in relation to Land Settlement Schemes, Project Land Lease Schemes, enforcement activities, divestment of crown lands, lease management and to support activities undertaken by the Adjudication Services Division and the Land Administration and Management Divisions within the parish.

Key Responsibilities
Crown Lands
Assists with conducting periodic inspections of properties to ensure that lessees comply with the terms and conditions of the lease.
Assists with monitoring vacant properties to ensure they are kept free and clear from squatting and makes recommendations for divestment where appropriate.
Assists with conducting investigations and research to determine ownership and status of property.
Assists with the serving of demand letters, repossession orders, and plaints on lessees.
Assists with the serving of notices to quit and eviction notices on squatters.
Project Land Lease Properties
Assists with conducting periodic inspection of schemes to determine the lessees of properties and the status of the scheme.
Land Settlement Properties
Assists with monitoring properties to ensure use is as intended and makes recommendations for forfeiture where necessary.
Recommends transfer of ownership for paid-up accounts.
Issues notices of allotments and certificates of title.
Assists with preparing transfer documents for settlers.
Assists with preparing status report as requested.
Liaising with next-of-kin and legal officer on matters of Probate and Letters of Administration
Interviewing and assisting clients with the completion of documents required for probate and letters of administration
Assists with conducting Land Settlement Inventory activities and ensures compilation and maintenance of the data.
Financial Responsibilities
Collecting rents, land settlement payments, legal fees, proceeds of sale, payments under the ad hoc and systematic titling activities and making lodgements to relevant accounts in accordance with the FAA Act, its attendant regulations and other statutory requirements.
Updating clients’ accounts for land settlements and project land lease
Preparing and submitting collection reports to Regional Lands Officer and Property Accounts Unit.
Systematic Titling (Adjudication Services Division)
Assists the Adjudication Services team in the field to identify owners
Assists with the dissemination of information in the field regarding titling activities and adjudication hearings.
Assists surveyors with field activities in surveying of properties in systematic titling
Liaises with landowners and legal officers on titling issues
Advises landowners on titling issues, and refers land owners to ASD/LAMD where necessary
Voluntary Titling (Land Administration and Management Division)
Assists the Adjudication Services team in the field to identify owners
Assists with the dissemination of information in the field regarding titling activities and adjudication hearings.
Assists surveyors with field activities in surveying of properties in systematic titling
Liaises with landowners and legal officers on titling issues
Advises landowners on titling issues, and refers clients to ASD/LAMD where necessary

Competence in the use of relevant computer applications

Minimum Required Qualifications and Experience
BSc in Estate Management/Land Economy and Valuation Surveying/BSc in Agriculture/ or equivalent qualifications
Related experience in land administration would be an asset
