Principal Director – Hospital Redevelopment Programme (GMG/SEG 5)

Summary of Duties
Under the general direction of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Principal Director – Hospital Redevelopment Programme is responsible for:
Reviewing, analyzing and evaluating plans for the UHWI Redevelopment Programme.
Examining reports submitted by officers, deciding upon courses of action to be taken and give directions for implementation.
Providing technical advice to all stakeholders.
Coordinating and monitoring the work of the UHWI Redevelopment Programme.
Reviewing and approving the objectives and goals and ensuring that targets are achieved.
Overseeing the developmental strategies and approaches for the performance standards and agree on targets/benchmarks.
Developing Strategic and Operational Plans for UHWI Redevelopment Programmes to reflect the strategic objectives of UHWI.
Ensuring compliance with the relevant legislation and regulations in the management of the programme.
Advising on the need for consultants and contractors necessary for the completion of the Redevelopment Programme and to develop appropriate agreements for the appointment of the necessary consultants and contractors.
Advising the CEO on significant developments, particularly in respect of budget and schedule, and recommend actions that may become necessary to maintain these throughout the course of the project.
Ensuring that appropriate project administrative records are maintained to ensure efficient management of the UHWI Redevelopment Programme.
Ensuring that project management skills are carried out in a professional manner to help maximize customer satisfaction and to ensure that UHWI will not be at a financial loss.
Ensuring open communication with key stakeholders. Addressing delicate situations and handling conflicts in such a way as to maximize opportunity and minimize exposure to risk.

Minimum Required Education and Experience
A Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Management or its equivalent from a recognized tertiary institution
Ten (10) years of experience in a senior capacity in the management of large-scale projects or development or related area
Training and experience in the concepts and principles of project management
